Waimakariri’s Woodend / Pegasus Urban Area is the fastest growing in the District, and the future SH1 Belfast to Pegasus Motorway and Woodend Bypass will create new opportunities for how the area connects and functions. With significant growth and change comes the need to ensure it is managed well - the right facilities and infrastructure need to be planned for to cater for community needs, new business and residential areas need to connect well to existing areas, and opportunities afforded by the new bypass need to be well understood and leveraged.

In light of that, the Council is looking to develop a Plan for the future, in consultation with partners, key stakeholders, and our wider community. We are kicking this project off with a quick survey to hear at the very outset what you think about important things like access, community and recreational facilities, and business and centres. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts – the information we receive from this early survey will play a key part in how a draft Plan – for public consultation later this year – is shaped.
