Consultation has concluded

The West Eyreton Pavilion dates back to the 1940’s when it was used by the West Eyreton Cricket, which folded some time after the war.

In 1995 the pavilion was gifted to the tennis club and Council agreed to relocate the pavilion to is present location beside the tennis courts.

The pavilion is a weather board structure, approximately 9 metres by 5 metres, consisting of one inside room and a veranda overlooking the tennis courts. The rear wall has been re-clad with corrugated iron and there are no toilet facilities.

The overall condition of the building is poor and options need to be considered for the future of the building which has not been used regularly for the past 10 years.

What we’re proposing

We're in the early stages of determining the best course of action and would like feedback from the local community to identify options.

The options presented to date are:

  • Demolition
  • Sell
  • Refurbish and relocate for community use
  • Refurbish in situ for community use

Tell us what you think

We want to know what your preferred option is for the future of the West Eyreton Domain Pavilion. Have your say using this feedback form or online at waimakariri.govt.nz/letstalk before 5pm, Friday 29 March 2024.
