Your Views on Alcohol Use in the Waimakariri District

The purpose of the current Waimakariri District Council LAP is to give effect to the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, Section 4, which seeks to ensure that:

- the sale, supply, and consumption of alcohol should be undertaken safely and responsibly; and,

- the harm caused by the excessive or inappropriate consumption of alcohol should be minimised.

Alcohol-related harm refers to the negative effects that alcohol use can have on individuals, families, and communities. This may include health issues, injuries, crime, unsafe behaviour, property damage, or other social impacts.
