We want to hear your thoughts on our Community Outcomes.These Community Outcomes have been developed to ensure Council understands what is important to our communities when making decisions which impact them.Community Outcomes are the outcomes Council aims to achieve in order to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of our District and residents, in the present and for the future.Community outcomes are about improving the well-being of communities over time, and in a sustainable manner. (</li><li>There are sufficient and appropriate locations where businesses can set up in our District.</li><li>There are sufficient skills and education opportunities available to support the economy.</li><li>There is access to meaningful, rewarding, and safe employment within the district.</li></ul> </td></tr></tbody></table> Promoting all four aspects of well-being is critical to sustainable development.Having clear Community Outcomes helps Council to better plan and align our service levels with community expectations and aspirations. It&rsquo;s an opportunity for residents and Council to work more closely together to find effective ways of achieving these common goals.When adopted, the Community Outcomes will help to guide the development of Council&rsquo;s plans and strategies for inclusion in its 2024-34 Long Term Plan (LTP).The Local Government Act (2002) requires local authorities to always have a long-term plan. The purpose of the long-term plan is amongst other things, to describe the community outcomes of the District.Successfully achieving our Community Outcomes will depend on Waimakariri residents, Council, iwi, businesses, industry groups, and our economic development agencies &ndash; working in partnership.It&rsquo;s important our Community Outcomes are developed in collaboration with the community and ownership of the targets sits with the whole community.That&rsquo;s why we want to hear from you.
