Consultation has concluded

The Woodend-Sefton Community Board are proposing new entrance signs for both Woodend and Woodend Beach and would like to hear your thoughts about the conceptual designs we have put together.

Background

The Woodend-Sefton Community Board plan to install welcome signs into each community within their ward. This began with the Waikuku Beach entrance sign, which was co-designed with the community. Following this, the Board have allocated budget to achieve entrance signs at both Woodend and Woodend Beach.

What we’re proposing:

Woodend Entrance Sign

There will be three identical Woodend signs to capture all entrances into Woodend. Two signs will be located on State Highway 1 (either end of Woodend) and the third will be located on Rangiora Woodend Road. For the design, we have conceptually designed three different options. These designs are not finalised, and Council would like feedback and ideas from the community, which will influence and shape the final design.

Woodend Beach Entrance Sign

There is one Woodend Beach entrance sign proposed along Woodend Beach Road. We have completed a co-design exercise with Woodend School. This generated ideas and drawings which staff based conceptual designs on. The students then voted for their top two signs which are shown in the options presented. Council is now seeking feedback and ideas from the Woodend Beach community, which will influence and shape the final design.

Tell us what you think!

We welcome your feedback on the design options for Woodend and Woodend Beach Entrance Signs. This will help guide the final designs, which we hope will represent the communities of Wooden and Woodend Beach.

Have you say using the survey below before 5pm, Thursday 14 September 2023.
