We want to know what you think about a proposal to install a community funded pump track at Pearson Park in Oxford.
What is a Pump Track?
A pump track is a looped circuit with banked corners and mounds that allow riders to generate speed and momentum without pedalling. It’s designed for all wheel types—bikes, scooters, skateboards, and wheelchairs—and is suitable for all ages and skill levels. The proposed pump track will be constructed using asphalt, providing a durable, low-maintenance surface suitable for year-round use.

Who’s Behind the Proposal?
The initiative is led by Bike Oxford; a group of local bike enthusiasts formed in 2024 in response to community demand for a dedicated bike play area. Bike Oxford will fundraise for the full cost of the track and gift the asset to Council. Council would be responsible for the maintenance of the track on an ongoing basis.
Proposed Location
The proposed location of the track is adjacent to the skate park, basketball court, and playground at Pearson Park. Final placement will depend on design and space requirements.
