We’re demolishing the Council-owned building at 13 Blake Street, Rangiora to allow for the creation of additional carparking in the High Street retail precinct.
The building, which has been leased on a month-by-month basis for several years, will be demolished in preparation for wider Blake Street carpark redevelopment work planned for 2027.
The work will include:
- Demolition of the building
- Disposal of materials
- Site works including levelling of the area.
Timing of work
The demolition is expected to happen early to mid August and is expected to take approximately three to four weeks to complete.
How the work may affect you
Some carpark areas near the demolition works will be fenced off to allow the works to be done safely. Please follow the onsite signage as alternative access routes to some areas of the carpark (e.g. behind the Post Office) will be required for short periods.

More information is available here.
