Consultation has concluded
Following requests from dog park users, Council has created a master plan for the potential ongoing staged development of the Dog Park which encompasses these requests from the community and Community Board.
The Woodend Sefton Community Board have already approved a realigned entrance path and the addition of more trees in order to improve accessibility and provide future shade and shelter. These projects are nearing completion and have been funded from the General Landscaping Budget.
This budget is a discretionary sum the Community Board can allocate towards landscape projects within their ward. The creation of a master plan enables the Board to determine what the future of the dog park could look like and identify specific projects which could be funded by future general landscape allocations or through the wider community.
As there are limited funds to spread across the ward, we also want to understand the priority of these projects and whether we have missed anything.
Current projects being considered are:
🟣 A shelter
🔵 Agility equipment
What is being considered
A shelter could create a space which is protected from the elements for people to socialise and rest while their dogs play.
Agility equipment are commonly requested items for dog parks and Gladstone Dog Park is no exception. In the past, tree logs have been placed in the park for dogs to climb on and jump over, however more permanent and fit for purpose equipment could be considered if desired.
We’re also open to any further suggestions that you might have. Please tell us using the feedback form or online survey.
Tell us what you think
We want to know how users of the dog park would prioritise the projects currently included within the Gladstone Dog Park Master Plan as well as if there is anything we have missed. Tell us which project you’d like to see completed first and which projects can wait.
There may be people or groups that can provide some assistance to help the other projects happen and/or if you are interested in supporting/being involved in a Friends of Gladstone Dog Park let us know using the survey.
Have your say using the survey below before 5pm, Friday 20 September 2024.
